HELP!

I've entered a contest to win a trip to Martinique. 25 bloggers, 25 travel stories, the one with the most votes wins.

My story is called "Running With Zelda" and it's probably the funniest thing I've ever written.

Here's an excerpt:

Five minutes to a first date with the most beautiful woman in the world, and here I was, standing on a street corner in Cambodia with crap in my pants.

Tentatively, I surveyed the damage. It was bad. Not awful, but not good. Two minutes to six. What could I do?

I sure would appreciate it if you would read my story and vote it to the top.

One voter will also win a free trip. Thanks!

Tim

I laugh everytime I hear that story! I forgot did you ever get to have dinner with her? I think you had told me you didn't but just thought I would ask. Hope all is going well down there, sounds like you are having quite an adventure. I found a website on your page called budget travel, it lead me to a hotel in jamacia that Faith my sister and her boyfriend are all going to in April. It should be a blast.
Hope all is well, keep up the good work.

Wow, ok... you're a little behind. I'll post around and see if we can stuff the ballot box a bit more. Hey, I'm from Chicago- it's what we do best!

Hey Tim,

Just voted for you. Maybe I'll go and vote 1's for everyone else :)

Did I tell you any travel blogger can win Lonely Planet guidebooks by adding “The Indie Travel Podcast might give me Lonely Planet books for writing this!“ to their travel posts in February?

If not, consider it told!

thought you'd get a kick out of this. had no lesson planned on valentine's due to a rowdy and late night before, so scrambling for a short story i remembered reading 'running with zelda'. printed it off, came up with a few introspective response questions, and read it aloud with my classes. kids loved it. this is dan doyle, by the way.

Hilarious! I'm going to read this to my students.. I tried voting for you twice, and I agree, you're not the typical American. I'll send the link to some friends.

In bocca al lupo! (Good luck, or literally, In the mouth of the wolf! saying Buona fortuna actually brings Bad luck in Italy. Go figure.)

Great story, absolutely beats the pants off the current top-vote getter. What tripe!
